Kurt Akers

Kurt is a native of the Chicagoland area who is integrated into the Chicago startup ecosystem through 1871’s Chicago tech incubator and the cannabis industry over the last 10 years as an investor, startup founder and health advocate. Additionally, he is a member of RBL1 investor community and Flyover Tech community. Holds a masters degree in Finance from Cranfield University in England and is an alumni of DePaul University. In his free time, he can be found on the Chicago lakefront or on random adventures with his dog Derby.

• Looking for breakthrough startups, working and talking with founders at the Pre-seed, Seed, and Series A stage

• Due diligence, market research, and evaluation
